Mapuana has been playing guitar under the tutelage of Gordon Kennedy since age 12, and singing for most of her life. A multifaceted musician, she has picked up drums, flute, ukulele, piano, as well as bass and saxophone over the years.

Mapuana has been a part of a handful of GK bands—namely, Modesto Area Music Award-winning group They Catch Secrets, of which she is the lead singer and guitarist. The group has since released their EP “Angel Bones”. Mapuana has also received MAMA awards for Best Singer-Songwriter and her contribution to the group “Nothing Rhymes With Orange” as best Youth Band.

When she isn’t teaching you may find her street performing or playing for community and private events. She has been hired by Central Valley businesses such as SaveMart, the Gallo Center for the Arts, and other local venues.

She currently offers lessons for piano, ukulele, guitar, and drums.
